Hello everyone and welcome to the ninth iteration of the Burglars Incorporated blog post. My name is Rahul and I will be the author of today’s blog post.
Today will be the last update this blog will get… for a few months. At the current moment, we all on the Burglars Incorporated team wish to put full effort into the game to ensure it is a fun and enjoyable experience, and for that reason we have taken the decision to focus solely on creating the game rather than promoting it too. Once the game reaches the ‘demo stage’ (i.e. where there is a fully playable demo) we will resume regular updates on the game, so if all goes to plan we will only be gone for three or four months.
Now let’s talk about the progress we’ve made over the past month. Recently, we came up with a new idea for the game to make it more fun, challenging, and intense in a co-op environment (i.e. with friends/family) and we are now working on implementing and testing out this idea in the game. I will not go into detail regarding this idea as this idea will be explained later, but this idea will make the game much more hectic and enjoyable to play with your friends, which is something we have wanted to achieve from day one regarding this project.
In the art department Abigail and Matthew have been working hard to design all the assets required for the game, in terms of characters and environment respectively. Abigail has now fully finished the character animations for Quick Cooper and she is now working on animations for one of the security guards in the game. Matt is working hard on the environment of the game, and is continuing his work on designing new shops for the first mall of the game, designing stealable items for these shops, and having separate layers for each item in the shop (to allow full immersion into the level).
In the music department of the game Justin has continued his work on the track that I am not allowed to inform you of yet, he has been slowly working on this track, trying to make improvements wherever he can, and he is doing a really amazing job regarding these improvements! This track shouldn’t take too long now to finalise, and we hope that we will be able to share it in the next blog post.
Fraser, Christopher, and I have all been really busy with Demon Debug lately and therefore not had as much time to work on Burglars Incorporated as we might have wished. Once the Demon Debug Alpha is ready we will be able to split up our time to work on both projects equally, but for now our focus is on Demon Debug due to the Alpha now nearing completion.
That is all for today's blog post. If you enjoyed it and want even more updates on the game be sure to follow the official Burglars Incorporated Twitter account, or follow one of the various Forgotten Pixel social media accounts by clicking on one of the buttons below.
