Hello everyone and welcome to another iteration of the Burglars Incorporated blog. My name is Rahul and I’ll be your host for this blog. Over the past two weeks a lot of progress has been made in all departments of the team, and I’ll be sharing that in this blog post.
Firstly, let’s talk about the art side of things. Both Matthew and Abigail have made an enormous amount of progress with the art assets for the game. Matt has recently been working on detailing the shops for the game to ensure their quality meets the ‘Forgotten Pixel standard’, he has also been working on the security related assets because you can’t have a burgling game without security. In my (slightly biased) view, I really think Matt did a great job on these designs, but you can judge that for yourself below.
Abigail has been working on sketches of the main protagonists of the game recently, and you can also see those below. Not only that but Abi has also managed to design fully coloured and high quality designs of each protagonist too, but we’ll be sharing that on our social media next week so stay tuned for that!
Justin has been hard at work on creating the sound effects and soundtracks that you will hear when you play Burglars Incorporated. Over the past two weeks he completed the sound effect for the in-game alarm, and he has been even completed the soundtrack for the main menu and for the first mall. Unfortunately, we cannot share much with you at this moment, but you can hear a snippet of one of the tracks below
Fraser has been extremely busy with his day job recently, but that has not stopped him from making progress on the story aspects of the game. Fraser has been working on finishing up the full character bios for each character, after having recently created the short bio for each character. Once again, we cannot share this document due to the confidentiality of this document, but you will see aspects of it across our website, social media, and of course, the game when it launches.
I’ve also made a substantial amount of progress on the programming/game management side of things, but unfortunately, I have not been able to make the amount of progress I would have wished to due to other things taking up my time over the past week. On the programming side of things, I have been working on the character movement (making sure it not only works but everything feels right), the ability to steal items, and I’ve also been working on implementing the sounds that Justin has created.
Christopher has been managing the team for this project, and so far he has been doing a great job assigning tasks to the team and ensuring everyone is aware of what they must do. However, that is not all he is responsible for, as the head of marketing for Forgotten Pixel he has been planning out Tweets, forum posts, and other ways to help promote the game.
That is all for this week’s blog post, as you can see the entire team has been hard at work on Burglars Incorporated. Hopefully you did enjoy this blog post, if you did, why not follow us on the Burglars Incorporated Twitter, or follow one of the various Forgotten Pixel social media accounts by clicking on one of the buttons below.
