Hello everyone and welcome to the third ‘2D-Platformer Game Blog’, my name is Rahul and once again I will be your host. In the thirty days since the last blog, we have made a bit of progress, but this was unfortunately slowed down due to a member leaving the team. Since the previous blog we have managed to add some enemy AI, get rid of some bugs, and add even more artwork!
Firstly l’ll talk about the AI system. In this game there are going to be many different types of enemies, and in order to make these enemies do what they should (e.g attack the player) we have to add a smart Artificial Intelligence to it so it knows what it needs to do and how it must be done. At this point we have the AI system correctly working for two types of enemies, and in the upcoming months we will be adding many more.
Secondly, we have gotten rid of some bugs. Of course this should be expected from every developer, but unfortunately certain development companies release games with way too many bugs. The main bugs that we've been trying to fix include errors with the AI but we managed to fix them.
Thirdly, the new artwork. Unfortunately, once again, I can not show this to you yet, but I promise we will showcase it in our next blog, or maybe even on our Twitter in the coming weeks! But mainly, once again, the artwork was mainly of enemies.
At this point of reading, you must be thinking that all we did was focus on enemies and enemy AI for all of February. Well, you are not wrong. In fact, we want this game to be as perfect as it can be, and in order to achieve this we are willing to focus on one area of development for a long period, even if that means that the entire game will be delayed!
