Hello everyone and welcome to today’s iteration of the Burglars Incorporated blog, my name is Rahul and in this blog post I have some bad news to share.
The first piece of bad news is that two members of our team have unfortunately left us. Christopher Bandura, our game designer, and Matthew Vicini, our environmental artist, have both unfortunately left us in order to focus on other projects, and we all on the Forgotten Pixel team wish them the best of luck for the future.
The other piece of bad news is that from today we are officially cancelling Burglars Incorporated, meaning we will no longer be developing it nor will the game ever be released by Forgotten Pixel. The main reason we have had to take this decision is because Burglars Incorporated is a game with a very large scope, especially in terms of art and programming, and for a team of our size it would take a ridiculous amount of time and effort in order to be able to achieve it at the standard we wish.
We all hate to start off this new year with such negative news, but it isn’t all negative. Cancelling Burglars Incorporated does not signify the end of Forgotten Pixel, we will continue to work on games such as Demon Debug, and another game will be announced soon that will be taking Burglars Incorporated’s place.
That concludes this final blog post for Burglars Incorporated. We thank you all for sticking with us on this journey, even though it didn’t end the way any of us would have really liked it to. If there is one positive from today’s blog though it’s that working on Burglars Incorporated definitely taught us all many lessons which we can apply to make our future games even better, and you’ll see that once we announce our next project very soon.
