Welcome to the latest Burglars Incorporated blog, I’m Fraser and I shall be your host for today’s edition. Before I begin I’d just like to remind you that development of both projects usually slows down towards the holiday season, because of this the length of this entry will be shorter than normal, but rest assured that we have made some exciting new developments recently.
So sit back, relax and enjoy today’s blog entry.
Over the past couple of weeks I have mainly been spending my time working on various documents relating to Demon Debug to get it more polished and ready for the alpha stage, however for Burglars Incorporated I have continued working on a potential story concept, however I cannot really discuss this in full, as due to it being just a concept it is not exactly ready to share yet and may not end up in the final version of the game.
Rahul has continued working on the various coding aspects of the game, this largely consists of implementing new UI features, increasing overall performance and implementing various debugging tools to ensure that the game runs and plays smoothly. Additionally, Rahul has also been implementing a major change to the camera system, this is being done so as to enable a more refined zooming functionality which will be used in place of a traditional split screen setup in the co-op game modes. Along the way of implementing this new feature, Rahul was also also busy fixing stuttering issuing. Overall, implementing and fixing these issues at this stage will help ensure that we won’t have to deal with this at a later stage, and it’ll really help tie the various aspects of the game together.
Meanwhile, Matthew has been busy updating some of the art that he has created for Burglars Incorporated by editing it into separate layers, this is being done so that not only are they easier to import into the game, but so that they work the way we wish for them to work in the game. This’ll be highly important in the long term as it'll allow more art work (as it's created) to be implemented into the game efficiently and with more ease.
Whilst the rest of the team have made some progress with regards to their various departments in Burglars Incorporated, however due to the approaching holiday season they haven’t really been able to continue working on these various new features and ideas. As such we will share more of their progress in the next edition of the Burglars Incorporated blog.
Thank you so much for reading this edition of the blog, as this’ll be the last Burglars Incorporated blog of this year, from the whole Burglars Incorporated team, have a great 25th and a fantastic new year!
