Hello everyone and welcome to another iteration of the Demon Debug blog, my name is Rahul and I shall be your host for this blog. Over the past two weeks plenty of progress has been made on Demon Debug, and I’ll be mentioning as much of this progress as I can below.
In terms of general game features there has been lots of progress made. I’ve been working on the UI for the game recently, so now the game’s menu and in-level UI is looking a lot better than it was before. We also decided to restart work on the levels of World One as we felt we could do much better, so recently I’ve been working on the levels of Demon (which are looking better, more enjoyable, and the level of difficulty is a lot more suitable).
In terms of programming I have also been making plenty of progress in that department. The main thing I have been working on lately is the new UI, and to make this work correctly I’ve had to program in a lot of logic so it works perfectly regardless of the input device. I've also made significant progress with the player attack mechanic, but it is still far from 100% perfect so I'll avoid talking about it in great detail. Additionally, I’ve also been working on a new Enemy AI for the game, but unfortunately I am unable to share that currently too.
Dylan has been making some progress in terms of artwork for the game too, and I’ll try and share some of it below. Progress is being made with the player's animations, with the walk and idle animations completed and the run animation currently being a work in progress. Along with that Dylan has also been making some progress on the walk animation for the first boss, Meaty Mitch. Additionally I've been trying to add some more effects to the game, so I've been trying to add effects, such as particles, to help make the game look a bit better.
