Hello everyone and welcome to the sixth ‘2D Platformer Game’ Blog. This blog is really special as not only does it symbolise half a year since we started this project, but Forgotten Pixel was also founded exactly one year ago today!
Now then, getting back on to the topic of the game itself. Since the last blog we have advanced a lot, the main reason for this is due to the recruitment of a new team, which has made things a lot easier in general. Forgotten Pixel is now a team of five highly talented individuals who wish to create games for the people! (you can read more on our team by visiting the 'About' section on our website)
You may remember that in the previous blog I mentioned how I have reset development in order to improve the project as a whole, now I have caught up and even surpassed the point I was at prior to the reset. So, you may be wondering what exactly has been added. Firstly, all the basic mechanics (such as wall jumping, double jumping, etc.) have all been improved. For example, the addition of different forms of wall jumping, along with that some enemy AI has also been improved and more obstacles which the player will have to avoid.
We have also made some progress in terms of story and art,and below you can listen to a short sample from the project. In the upcoming blog you can also expect to see more updates in terms of art, story and some progress in the improvement of in-game mechanics!
